Drawing tips

Yesterday my niece asked me a question and my advise. She is very good in drawing and really enjoying it. She also attending art class in school and understandably they have some tasks, to perform some home work like drawing what they leant at school.

From her last class they studied light and shadow. So it was a picture that was given as an example and kids had to do draw the picture but also to show where the light is coming from. In order to do so they had to do shadows of any subjects that were on picture and also to show direction of light.

What I like she paid attention to the light source and the shadows were on correct side. The only what she did not pay attention that the shadows are not exact mirror of an object and also sometimes they are longer then original object.

From my side I just made small correction and also explained how to do shadows of mountains, it is something that every beginner will have. For mountains the shadow will be there where the rocks and peaks have their edges. That is why often it is easy to see when there is some snow on mountains. I also draw some shadows on clouds because otherwise they looked too boring. This way, everything looks more or less like in a real life. For our human eye of viewer that is easy to understand that. I hope you also enjoyed our tutorial.

I am inviting following users for contest @dequeen, @memamun, @sitaraindaryas

Hey @stef1, this is a fantastic entry for @suboohi's contest! I love how you've turned a simple art assignment into a mini-tutorial on light and shadow. Explaining the nuances of mountain shadows and cloud shading is super helpful, especially for beginners. The before-and-after approach with your niece's drawing is a great way to illustrate the impact of these techniques.

Your passion for art education shines through, and I'm sure your niece appreciates your guidance. This is a perfect example of how Steemit can be a platform for sharing knowledge and fostering creativity! Upvoted and resteemed! I encourage others to check out @stef1's tips and share their own art experiences in the comments!
